FT. LAUDERDALE FIRE STATION - SPECIAL EVENT

Florida Ghost Team investigated this location on several occaisions a few years and just recently with WSFL-TV. One of our investigations here was featured on Sci-Fi's TV show Proof Positive (no longer airing) and we captured a few EVPs. On one visit there, during filming, Shaun and her team were taking a break in one of the sleeping quarters there and Shaun asked for Robert Knight (see below) to mess with the production crew's cameras. 5 minutes later one of the crew members stuck their head in the door and stated that they were having issues with their camera and had to send out for another one. They received the new camera and this one too wouldn't work.

Shaun asked Robert to just let's get this over with and leave the cameras alone. A few minutes after she said that a crew member came and told us it's working and to let's continue filming....coincidence?

The true story on Mr. Robert Knight is that he was a very big man (a boxer) and he came from Grand Rapids, Michigan. The station (established in the 1920s) had no regulation boots in his size being that he wore a size 13 shoe. So, they had to special order some for him.

On his 11th day on the job, they received a call and headed out. Once they arrived at the location, Robert jumped from the truck (remember, he did not have regulation boots on) into a puddle of water which was charged with a downed power line...he died instantly.

Stories have been told of Robert's presence at the fire station to this very day and some have even claimed to see him in the hallway and in one of the rooms specifically.

Whatever the reasons are for Robert to still be hanging around the fire station can be speculated from here to eternity. But, one thing's for sure is that once you step inside this historical place, you will feel a heavy presence like someone is watching you or even following you.
